This was the first song I wrote for the album, so a fitting start. It's pretty self-explanatory song about the effects of alienation.
A short song about the contempt, corruption and cronyism displayed during lockdown, and the nation's dazed ambivalence to it.
A rare (for me) acoustic-driven song about how trauma and experience shapes us. We're not unique, but then again we are also not alone.
Kinda-electronic post-Brexit hellscape song featuring Andy Delany's wonderful lead vocal! I had great fun with the keyboard solo on here. :)
This was another early track written after a friend talked about the onset of anxiety and panic attacks.
A straightforward rock song about having to find your own voice when no-one speaks for you.
Dave and I re-wrote this in the studio, with the chorus being built around the chanted hook. This song is about making things happen.
Things can be difficult depending on where we find ourselves, so it's important to give ourselves a break every now and again!
The confusion of the 2020s - the pandemic, and crises of economy and democracy - were some of the happy triggers behind this song!
The final track about how, after everything, we still have to find a way forward. Jason's drumming on this (and the rest of the album) was absolutely fantastic!

I've been playing in bands for a long time, most recently with The Silver Bayonets. During lockdown, when the band was in its forced hiatus, I had some demo recordings that producer Dave Draper suggested we record as a solo album. From there, we enlisted the help of Bullet for My Valentine drummer Jason Bowld to get the recording started. I recorded my guitars, synths and backing vocals at home and asked one of my favourite singers, Andy Delany, to sing lead vocals on one song. I then went up to Dave's studio in Worcester, where Dave played bass and added some more guitars, and recorded my lead vocals. On October 3, 2022, the album, "Scared New World" was released!
